Building relationships and helping others through important life milestones has always been a driving force for Lina Lopez. Today, she brings that same people-first approach to the Onward Real Estate Team.

Her connection to Central Texas runs deep. It's the place that shaped her values, fostered lifelong relationships, and ultimately inspired her passion for serving others.

Born and raised in Waco, Texas, Lopez attended Reicher Catholic High School before continuing her education at McLennan Community College. Having spent her entire life in the area, she has had the opportunity to watch Waco grow and evolve while still maintaining the sense of community that makes it special.

One of the things Lopez loves most about Waco is the way the community rallies around local businesses. From neighborhood coffee shops to locally owned restaurants, she enjoys supporting the people and businesses that help give the city its unique character. Some of her favorite local spots include Alpha Omega, Moroso Wood Fired Pizzeria, and Red Herring, each offering something that makes Waco feel like home.

When it comes to coffee, however, there's one place that tops the list. "You can usually find me at Be Kind Coffee," Lopez said. "A Be Kind Latte with almond milk, always!"

Having spent her entire life in the area, Lopez appreciates the balance Waco offers between opportunity and community. While she enjoys the energy and amenities of larger cities, she believes Central Texas provides the best of both worlds.

"The community, local businesses, and friendly faces are what make Central Texas so special to me." Lopez said.

From Fashion to Real Estate

Before beginning her real estate career, Lopez spent seven years working in luxury retail, a field she was drawn to because of her longtime passion for fashion. During that time, she had the opportunity to attend New York Fashion Week and industry markets in Chicago and Atlanta while helping hundreds of prom and bridal clients celebrate some of life's most memorable moments.

While she enjoyed her career in retail, she found herself searching for a way to make an even greater impact.

"Over the years, I helped hundreds of prom and bridal clients find the perfect dress and celebrate some of the biggest moments of their lives," Lopez said. "I loved being part of those special milestones, and I began asking myself what career could give me that same sense of fulfillment. Real estate was the perfect answer."

Looking back, Lopez sees many similarities between fashion and real estate. Both industries are built on relationships, understanding people's needs, and helping them feel confident in important decisions.

Her interest in the industry was also influenced by personal experience. When she was 16 years old, her parents sold their first home and purchased their second.

"Being able to witness that process firsthand was incredibly eye-opening," she said. "I saw the excitement, the challenges, and the impact that buying and selling a home can have on a family."

Today, what excites Lopez most about real estate is the opportunity to help first-time homebuyers navigate one of the biggest purchases of their lives.

"Purchasing a home can feel overwhelming, especially if you've never gone through the process before," she said.

"My goal is to make the experience as smooth, enjoyable, and memorable as possible while helping them achieve homeownership."

For Lopez, real estate is about more than transactions. It's about helping people achieve their goals and find a place to call home.

Finding the Right Fit at Onward

Joining the Onward Real Estate Team was a natural next step for Lopez. When she decided to pursue a career in real estate, the choice of where to begin was an easy one.

"Onward was the clear choice," Lopez said.

Before transitioning into real estate, she spent a year working with Alliance Property Management, Onward's sister company. Through that experience, she became familiar with the team, company values, and client-focused approach that define the organization. It also gave her valuable insight into the investment side of real estate and the many ways clients can build long-term wealth through property ownership.

Today, Lopez is backed by a network of residential, commercial, and property management professionals who help support clients at every stage of their real estate journey. Whether someone is buying or selling a home, exploring commercial opportunities, or building an investment portfolio, she can connect them with the resources and expertise needed to achieve their goals.

Her time in property management also reinforced the impact housing can have on people's lives.

"Being a Realtor means having the opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives," Lopez said. "My background in property management taught me that housing is more than just a place to live. It's where memories are made and futures are built. I love helping people navigate important life transitions and being someone they can rely on throughout the process."

One of the things she values most about Onward is the collaborative culture and the support agents receive from one another.

"Everyone is willing to share knowledge, offer guidance, and celebrate each other's successes. I feel incredibly supported and welcomed at Onward," she said. "Having access to experienced professionals who are always willing to answer questions and provide guidance has helped me grow tremendously. At the same time, I'm challenged to continue learning and improving every day."

A Strong Start

Lopez is already gaining valuable experience and making an impact. In fact, she recently helped a client go from showing homes to having a property under contract in less than 15 days, an exciting milestone that reflects her dedication, responsiveness, and commitment to serving her clients.

As she continues to learn and grow, Lopez remains focused on building meaningful relationships and providing a positive experience for every client she serves. Her enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and commitment to helping others have already positioned her for a strong start in the industry.

Looking Toward the Future

As she looks toward the future, Lopez is excited to continue growing her business while serving the community she loves. She hopes to work with a variety of clients throughout their real estate journeys, particularly first-time homebuyers who may benefit from a trusted guide throughout the process.

"My goal is to make every client feel supported and confident throughout the process while creating an experience that is both exciting and enjoyable," Lopez said. "I want my clients to know they have someone in their corner every step of the way."
